An extra special one this. Only a mere 2000 numbered copies of the Arena Tour Edition Comfort In Sound single were printed and distributed only during the four end of year Arena Tours.
We spent a good twenty minutes having to queue up for our copy of Comfort In Sound (be nice for you to send us a copy for review next time, Echo...) which is twenty minutes we could have spent doing something productive like washing Mr.T's van or mowing the lawn. I tell you what though; it was well worth the wait.
The single features a brand-spanking new version of the title track from the platinum selling album Comfort In Sound. Remixed by Mark "Spike" Stent, the song itself isn't vastly different from the album version, at least not in the Suffocate/Paperfaces sense. But we do have to admit that the extra bass and instrumentalness of it do help make it superior to the album version in almost every way.
Better still, the single also features the previously unseen video for Piece By Piece, which was axed for being inappropriate at the time it's release (the video sees an animated Feeder leaping from skyscrapers in New York) and the brand new Comfort In Sound video, a mesh of old film footage including live gig performances.
A fantastic single and a landmark in Feeder's history, celebrating the first headlining gigs at various Arenas across the country including Wembley and the NIA in Birmingham. If you couldn't make it to one of the arena gigs then I wouldn't worry too much since the singles have already started popping up on eBay and are available in the official site store.
